Yahoo! was founded by David Filo and Jerry Yang on February 1994 as a way to track their personal interests on the internet. Their list eventually became to big so they divided it into categories and subcategories....Yahoo! was born. The Web site started out as "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web" but eventually received a new name with the help of a dictionary.
The name Yahoo! is an acronym for "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle," but Filo and Yang insist they selected the name because they liked the general definition of a yahoo: "rude, unsophisticated, uncouth."
Yahoo! celebrated its first million-hit day in the fall of 1994, translating to almost 100 thousand unique visitors. With their success the two guys decided to venture into business by talking with Sequoia Capital. After reviewing their site and its potential they agreed to fund Yahoo! in April 1995 with an investment of $2 million.
Below we have complied images of Yahoo! throughout the years. Yahoo! has went through many changes unlike the Google page. They will again go through another major layout change, you can already see this change if you upgrade your homepage. If you wait they will automatically replace the homepage November 11, 2009 and you can see the new layout.
Yahoo is one of the oldest, most well known search engines of the internet. Without them we would not have a Google and the internet would be much harder to navigate. Thank you Yahoo for pushing the limit of the internet and for revolutionizing how we surf.

YAHOO, WAYBACK MACHINE, IMAGES, YEARS, CHANGES, VISUAL

Hmmm....well, I see the Yahoo page clearly on all of my computers, but I did some research for you. First thing you need to do is clear the internet cache (IE: Tools > Internet Options > Delete Browsing History > Check Cookies OR check all > Delete), (Firefox:Tools > Options > Remove Individual Cookies > Find Yahoo and Delete the cookie). Then you need to browse to www.yahoo.com.
If this does not work there is another option. Once on the messed up page go to the bottom and click the "Return to Classic Yahoo.com". This will restore the old look.
Remember, on November 11th this page will be the new look of Yahoo. Maybe the beta testing is messed up on your computer and it will be fixed, but maybe not...you need to contact Yahoo support.
